My guarantee
My name is Graham Judd, and I own Judd’s Quail. I guarantee a 50% hatch rate or better on all hatching eggs. If your hatch rate is less than 50% for any reason, I will replace all of the unhatched eggs; you just cover the shipping cost. To make your hatching experience the best it can possibly be, please see the hatching guide below. This will help ensure the best hatch rate for you.
o Let all shipped eggs rest “pointy end” down for 12-24 hours before placing them in the incubator.
o Set your incubator in an area that has a relatively constant temperature. Avoid windows or drafty rooms.
o Let your incubator run for 12-24 hours before setting the eggs to allow the temperature to stabilize.
o Set your incubator to 99.5° F.
o Set your humidity to 45%.
o You may want to use a secondary hygrometer to confirm the settings on your incubator.
o Set your eggs in the incubator. Either use an incubator with an automatic egg turner or be sure to rotate the eggs appropriately. Note: manually rotating eggs can affect the hatch rate as opening the incubator frequently will cause changes in temperature and humidity. Egg turners are highly recommended.
o Maintain the temperature and humidity as stable as possible days 1-14. Fluctuations of +/- 0.5° should be expected. Humidity may fluctuate +/- 5% as well.
o On the morning of day 15, your eggs will go on lockdown. Remove the eggs from the egg turner and lay the eggs in the incubator. Increase the humidity on your incubator to 65%. Close the lid and do not open the lid until your hatch is complete.
o Chicks may stay in the incubator for up to 72 hours after the hatch. It is best to take the chicks out after 48 hours.
o Move the chicks to your brooder and ensure the brooder temperature is at least 95° F.
o Congratulations! Your chicks have hatched. Call, email, or text me with any questions or concerns.
